Mike Gambino's first year in Happy Valley was an undisputed success. The Nittany Lions went 29-24 in 2024, their first winning season since 2016 and the 29 wins set a new program high for a first-year head coach.
In addition, Penn State qualified for the Big Ten Tournament as an eight seed and made a deep run before falling 2-1 against Nebraska in front of 13,000 – mostly Cornhusker fans – at Charles Schwab Field in Omaha.
