TROY, Ala. Sitting on the field behind home plate, protected by a screen, during a Troy fall intrasquad, it's hard not to notice how that 30-foot tall right field Monster appears, just 310 feet from home plate. The Monster, which got a new 21-by-71-foot video board before last season, can make pitchers feel claustrophobic, especially when faced with Troy's display of left-handed sluggers.
With that wall in mind, it's no surprise that Troy has a roster full of left-handed bats that can take advantage of the wall, and left-handed pitchers that can wear down other teams.[…]
