Every year, he opens his doors on the 29th of December, inviting fellow competitors to the annual Subbuteo match.

Firefighters at Muan International Airport in South Korea, the site of the Jeju Air plane that crashed on arrival on December 29, killing 179 people. The Boeing 737-800, which originated from Bangkok, was operated by South Korea's most popular budget airline. Only two crew members survived the crash, making it South Korea's worst plane crash.

Hilde Dosogne completes her 366th race in 2024, in Ghent, Belgium, in aid of the BIG breast cancer research group. Dosogne broke the unofficial Guinness World Record in May 2024 by completing his 151st consecutive daily race.

The world said goodbye to 2024 and welcomed 2025 in style. The event was marked by many beautiful fireworks displays around the world, including the one enjoyed by a family at Ancol Beach in Jakarta, Indonesia.

US police say they believe the explosion outside the Trump hotel in Las Vegas on New Year's Day was unrelated to the deadly car attack in New Orleans. The driver of a Tesla Cybertruck was killed and seven others injured in Las Vegas after the vehicle – which was filled with petrol cans and explosives – exploded.
