“We try to give them as normal a life as possible,” Reynolds told the outlet.

“I try not to make a difference between their childhood and my childhood or my wife's,” the actor continued, reflecting on his and Blake's upbringing and how his perspective on raising children has changed.

“We both grew up working hard, and I remember when they were very young, I used to say or think, like, 'Oh my God, I never would have been gifted like this when I was a kid,' or, 'I never had the luxury of getting takeout,' or whatever,” Reynolds said. .

“Then I realized that it's not really their bag of stones,” he said, adding that his children have started to show their values. “They're already deeply connected to gratitude and understanding the world enough to have a strong sense of empathy.”

Reynolds explained how her children make her and Lively feel secure in their parenting style.

“Those are the things I can think of [would indicate] we are doing a GOOD job — if our children can empathize with other people and other children,” he said, but admitted that no matter what happens, his children will grow up to be a different child than the one he had.
