Many of his grown children from his former wives still find themselves separated from their father. But, fans say that Robyn always seems to find excuses from Kody when she fails as a father.
Except Robyn begs Kody to make up with her kids in the game Sister Wives on screen, he still doesn't blame them for their breakup. Instead, he cites his sadness over his failed marriages as the basis for his children's broken relationships.
Is Robyn's Excuse About Kody Her Excuse About His Father?
Robyn Brown has been a Sister Wives a celebrity for over a decade now. During that time, he said things and even wrote a book. It seems that even Robyn might forget some of the things she said.
A few years ago, the Sister Wives Adults have written bestsellers. Many things buried in those pages can explain what we see on the screen today. Another example is how Robyn sees her father. First, Robyn Brown's biological father is Robert Marck, a man who is little known among fans of the series.
Her mother, Alice Fullmer, divorced Mark and married Paul Sullivan when Robyn was very young. Robyn Brown had little contact with her biological father, but her stepfather became a father to her. So, when he talks about his father Sister Wives show, he often refers to Paul Sullivan, who died in 2022.
He is the father we saw at his wedding to Kody and the father who attended the birth of Solomon Brown. But despite loving this man, she had to make excuses for him about some painful situations as a child. She does a lot for her husband today.
Sister Wives: Pain and Excuses Rooted in Her Past
Many Sister Wives fans read a book written by Kody Brown and his four wives, when they were very popular. Robyn talks about how when she was growing up, her polygamous family was falling apart. Because his mother was his father's second wife, Robyn, his mother and siblings were his hidden family.
But he talks about a painful incident when he was a child when he went to the park with his father, mother and full siblings. When he got there, his father saw someone he was working with. Since his first wife and his biological children were his social family, he was not seen with Robyn's mother and her children.
So he left ignoring them. Despite Robyn Brown writing that it “hurt me so much”, she understood why her father needed to do this. Robyn lived with her father during her childhood, not keeping her mother as his wife.
Instead, she is introduced as her father's “sister” or her sympathetic “ex-wife”. So, making excuses for Kody Brown almost came naturally to him. From what Robyn Brown said, her mother always made things up for her with more excuses as to why they couldn't be recognized outside of their home.
So, you can say that Robyn's father installed these buttons for his wife and Robyn Brown. Those buttons still look great today and give Robyn Brown a way to have a good excuse.
But, instead of breaking out of this behavior, Robyn Brown perpetuates this excuse today as an adult. So, Kody Brown is still pushing those buttons today, which may have been put on by his father years before he appeared on the TLC series.
