Woman dies after she catches fire in Brooklyn subway; The NYPD suspects murder
A woman has died after she was reportedly set on fire in a Brooklyn subway car, and police are investigating her death as a possible homicide, sources said.
A harrowing video obtained by the Daily News shows a woman standing near the door of a subway car on Coney-Island-Stillwell Ave.
“Someone here! Oh s–t,” a voice can be heard on cell phone video, as what sounds like a police officer on the radio passes by.
The woman, who sources say is homeless, was approached by a man who was on the F train at the Coney Island-Stillwell Ave stop. About 7:30 in the morning.
He then lit the fire, and the man left the scene, sources said. EMS responded, and the woman was pronounced dead at the subway station.
The police have not arrested anyone in this case. The identity of the woman has not been released.
