After Hurricanes Milton and Helene, the United States government's lack of disaster response cooperation left thousands of people homeless and in need of assistance. This sparked an internet backlash, with many questioning why billions of American taxpayer dollars are being directed to military aid abroad, while disaster relief is shrinking at home. From climate change, to education, to housing, Americans say their money should be invested in solving critical domestic problems first.
