Newlyweds Katie Boulter again Alex de Minaur may share a modified New Year's celebration.

That's because tennis' top couple can create fireworks on New Year's Day.

Australian No. 1 de Minaur and British No. 1 Boulter will face each other in the mixed United Cup on New Year's Day in Sydney.

Facing her boyfriend will be a physical and emotional battle for Boulter.

“I mean, it's a tough situation,” Boulter said after leading Great Britain to a 2-1 win over Argentina in Group F in Sydney. “It's difficult.

“[Alex] he was smiling when I left the court because we had kept them in it, so he is happy. I won't be happy until I win. Yes, I'm looking for a fight.”

The pair are rumored to be competing in the 2023 Wimbledon mixed doubles.

They'll ring in the New Year as rivals—and they'll walk off the court together.

“Look, I don't know what's going to happen on the day,” Boulter said. “I have to put my head down and try not to think too much about it, but we will fight for it together.”

“We both want it. We both compete. No matter what happens, we'll still go home happy. That's what matters.”
