Arthur Fils on Friday secured a more than quarter-final victory over Stefanos Tsitsipas at the Swiss Indoor Basel. The Frenchman has also confirmed that he will top the 2024 ATP 500 Bonus Pool.
The ATP 500 Bonus Pool this year distributes $1,340,000 to the five players with the most points earned in the ATP 500 category in 2024. By winning it, Fils will earn an additional $615,000.
The Phils now have 1,400 points in the division this season, led by runner-up Jannik Sinner, who has 1,330. Alex de Minaur, currently competing in Vienna, could overtake Sinner. However, neither player will be able to catch the Phils.
The 20-year-old has won two ATP 500 titles this year, in Hamburg and Tokyo. In addition to his semi-final this week in Basel, Fils advanced to the quarterfinals in Barcelona and Halle.
Casper Ruud currently holds fifth place in the Bonus Pool with 830 points. Players who still have a chance to finish in the Top 5 are Holger Rune (Basel), Alexander Zverev (Vienna), Andrey Rublev (Basel), Jack Draper (Vienna), Ben Shelton (Basel) and Lorenzo Musetti (Vienna).
The second place player in the Bonus Pool will earn $310,000, third place will receive $205,000, fourth place will take home $130,000 and fifth place will receive $80,000.
