TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) – A semi-truck caught fire on I-75 Saturday after a flat tire.
According to a press release from Hillsborough County Fire Rescue, the truck, which was carrying eggs, caught fire near exit 246 in Riverview.
HCFR said the fire appeared to start in the cab of the truck before spreading to the trailer and cargo.
Responders were able to extinguish the fire within 30 minutes, except for hot spots in the cargo area.
Video showed traffic on the southbound lanes of I-75, which was reduced to one lane as responders worked to bring the fire under control.
