Scott Wolf he's played a few TV doctors – but does that mean his loved ones are now asking him for medical advice?
“I have played the doctor four times. I should get a degree somewhere else,” Wolf, 56, joked during an exclusive interview with him Us Weekly about his new Fox series Doctor. “Thank you [my family] they don't [ask for my medical advice].”
Before getting the role of Dr. In Richard Miller's upcoming medical drama for Fox, Wolf played medical professionals Everwood, The Nine again Night Shift.
“I diagnose family members, much to their chagrin,” he laughed. “One of the great things about being an actor is that you come – by osmosis – to these worlds. None of this makes any of us real doctors. It's the fourth time I've played a doctor and some things stick.”
Wolf noted how important it is to honor real-life doctors, adding, “It's important to me and it's important to everyone in the show that we honor the work that these real-life life-saving heroes do.”
Doctorwhich premieres on Tuesday, January 7, is based on the Italian TV series Nelle tue mani about a doctor who loses his memory in a car accident and wakes up to find his whole life changed. Molly Parker leads the characters along with the wolf, Omar Metwally, Amirah Vann, Jon Ecker, Anya Banerjee again Patrick Walker.

But I've never had such a fun, interesting, complex and sometimes painful character to play. Despite playing the “faulty guy”. DoctorThe wolf was enjoying the challenge.
“Any actor will tell you that you should always find reasons, understanding and sympathy for the characters you love. But this time it wasn't like I had to figure out how to forgive a bad person who did a bad thing,” explained the actor. “This was the best person any of us could ever be. But with his circumstances, he reaches this terrible situation where a mistake has been made and his reaction to it is to get defensive. “
The wolf is sarcastic Us that arc Richard – and Doctor like the series – “will always surprise” viewers, saying, “It's very well written and I'm a big fan of hospital dramas, But obviously the premise is very interesting, and the character development is amazing. The whole point is to build characters and tell stories that touch people.”
He continued: “Sometimes it can take a while and the first episode of the show can leave you feeling like you're just scratching the surface. … I didn't know where they were going to go with it all, but it's amazing to read something and feel like I'm going to play any character in the show.”
Doctor airs on Fox on Tuesdays at 9 pm ET and new episodes air the next day on Hulu.
