Donald Trump Tells Joe Rogan 'Biggest Mistake' of His Presidency Is Picking 'Bad,' 'Dishonest People'
Donald Trump sat down with Joe Rogan to record a three-hour interview for “The Joe Rogan Experience” podcast on Friday. The episode aired later on Friday evening.
In a wide-ranging interview, Trump said his biggest mistake while in the White House was hiring “bad people, or dishonest people.” The former president repeated unsubstantiated allegations that the 2020 election was “rigged” — but when Rogan asked him if he would produce evidence that the election was “stolen,” Trump changed the subject.
More from the variety
Rogan asked Trump if the former president had made “bad choices” in appointing White House officials. Trump, after boasting about his Supreme Court nominees, admitted that “the biggest mistake I've made” was that “I picked people I shouldn't have picked.” Rogan asked if Trump was talking about “neocons,” to which Trump replied, “Yes, neocons, or bad people, or dishonest people.”
In this context, Trump called two former members of his administration: John Kelly, a retired Marine Corps general who was Trump's chief of staff, and John Bolton, his national security adviser – both of whom were critical of Trump and the threat. you put. Kelly and Bolton are among many former Trump officials who have been critical of the former president since serving under him. In an interview with The New York Times this week, Kelly said Trump met the definition of a fascist and did not understand the Constitution — and confirmed earlier reports that Trump made flattering statements about Adolf Hitler.
In an interview with Rogan, Trump called Kelly “a bully but a weak person” and “ugly,” while disparaging Bolton as an “idiot.”
In addition, Rogan asked Trump if he was “totally committed” to nominating Robert F. Kennedy Jr. in his administration. In August, Kennedy suspended his independent presidential campaign and endorsed Trump. Trump responded, “Oh, I absolutely am. But the only thing I want to watch out for is nature. Because he doesn't like fat. I love oil and gas.”

In a post on X, Rogan said the YouTube upload was temporarily suspended after a technical issue delayed the episode's distribution on Spotify. “There is no problem with YouTube blocking the trumpet episode,” Rogan wrote. “It was supposed to go live on both Spotify and YouTube at the same time and there was a problem with Spotify's upload process so we removed the YouTube link until it's fixed. It should be good now.”
