This South Jersey resort is the No. 1 in America, according to USA Today readers
A new hotel in Wildwood took home an award that has never been won by another in the region.
Madison Resort Wildwood Crest was recently named a new top hotel on the USA Today 10Best list. A panel of travel experts selected their top picks for hotel openings and hotels that underwent major renovations in the past year and a half, and readers then voted on their favorites until a winner was crowned.

According to a press release from Madison Resorts, no other hotel in the South Jersey and Greater Philadelphia area has ever received this distinction.
Madison Resort Wildwood Crest opened in May of 2024 after the original building, the Oceanview Motel, was purchased and demolished in 2022. The Royal Hawaiian Motel next door was purchased in 2023 and used to expand the Madison Resorts vision.

The Madison Resort Wildwoo Crest renovation project cost $54 million. It offers 200 rooms, two pools, two restaurants, wedding and event space, beach access and shuttle services around Wildwood.

No other hotel from New Jersey or the tri-state area was represented among the 17 other hotels selected for this category.
