Beyonce's Announcement Postponed Amid LA Fires
Beyoncé is postponing his much-anticipated announcement due to the Los Angeles wildfires.
“The January 14 announcement will be postponed to a future date due to the damage caused by the ongoing fires in the Los Angeles area,” the pop star, 43, shared on Instagram on Monday, January 13.
He continued, “I continue to pray for the healing and rebuilding of families suffering from trauma and loss. We are blessed to have brave first responders who continue to work tirelessly to protect the community of Los Angeles.”
Beyoncé made the big announcement — which fans speculated could be anything from a new tour to a new album — on Jan. 14 following her NFL Christmas Day break show in Houston, Texas. This star sang the songs that came out of it Cowboy Carter album debut during the Baltimore Ravens vs. Houston Texans game on December 25th.
The singer's family has been affected by the wildfires in the Los Angeles area, which have destroyed areas such as the Pacific Palisades and the Hollywood Hills. Beyoncé's mother, Tina Knowlesshared on Instagram on Thursday, January 9, that he lost his Malibu home to a fire. “It was my favorite place, my holy place, my holy place of happiness,” revealed Tina, 71.
“God Bless all the brave men and women of our fire department who put their lives at risk under dangerous conditions,” continued Tina. “We [thank you] for your sacrifice and courage and for saving so many lives. This could have been much worse without the dedication of disaster workers and first responders. I am very saddened by the loss of five family members. My deepest prayers are with you!!!!! “…
He added, “For the people who lost their homes and possessions, I can only imagine what it's like to lose the buildings and everything you worked so hard and sacrificed so much to have! My heart and deepest prayers go out to all of you ❤️I cannot see the pain and suffering and fear you are enduring. I am actively praying for our beautiful City of Los Angeles!! We are tough but we will recover!”
On Sunday, January 12, Beyoncé's BeyGood foundation announced a new LA Fire Relief Fund, in which the nonprofit pledged $2.5 million.
“Los Angeles we stand with you. 🫶🏽,” BeyGood shared in an Instagram post.
“This fund is intended to help families in the Altadena/Pasadena area who have lost their homes, as well as churches and community centers to address the immediate needs of those affected by the wildfires,” the organization said.
