Add Carlos Alcaraz growing up João Fonseca the bandwagon.
After his win over Yoshihito Nishioka on Wednesday in Melbourne (6-0, 6-1, 6-4), the third-seeded Spaniard gave his opinion on the 18-year-old player from Brazil.
Alcaraz didn't see it all in Fonseca's 7-6(1) 6-3 7-6(5) win over the 9-seeded Andrei Rublevbut he saw enough to be deeply impressed.
“I saw a little at the beginning and at the end of the game,” Alcaraz told reporters. “What can I say about it? It's just amazing. I mean, the way he played his first Grand Slam match against his first Top-10, it's unbelievable. The way he approached the game, the way he handled everything, the fear, the game as a whole, it was very good.”

Alcaraz is confident that Fonseca has the potential to rise quickly, as he plays in his first Grand Slam main draw.
“Someone I have to take care of, let's say,” she said. “He will be there. It's still early in the year, he's only won one Grand Slam, but he'll be there.
“We will add Joao Fonseca's name to the list of the best players in the world soon.”
