Caravans have been built every year since, although over time, they have gotten smaller and smaller, in an effort to attract less attention.
The nationality of the people in the caravan has also changed. In 2018, most people came from Central America. Recently, in a reflection of changing migration patterns, Venezuelans have formed the largest group. People from other South American countries can be found, too. A woman in a recent caravan was carrying her Bible from Peru.
