China is also warning the EU about separate negotiations with EV manufacturers
BEIJING (Reuters) – China has renewed warnings to the European Union that if the bloc makes separate deals with electric car companies while it is in talks with China, it will “shake trust” and disrupt comprehensive talks, China's Commerce Ministry said on Monday.
The ministry issued a similar warning earlier this month, but the repetition comes days after China and the EU agreed to hold further technical talks on possible alternatives to China's electric vehicle (EV) tax.
Both sides have made it clear that price commitment will continue to be the solution to this dispute, and the Ministry said the next phase of consultation has begun.
Beijing said last Friday it “welcomed the EU delegation to come to China as soon as possible”.
