Alpine bees can fly above 29,000 meters

Bees, with their large bodies and relatively small wings, were previously expected to have difficulty flying at high altitudes. However, alpine bumblebees have surprisingly proven that they can fly under high barometric pressure, according to two researchers from the University of California and the Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute.
