Morgan Fairchild Tributes Friends Costar Matthew Perry 1 Year After Death

Matthew PerryFormer TV mom Morgan Fairchild he continues to feel his loss a year after his death at the age of 54.

“I've actually been thinking about it a lot,” said Fairchild, 74, in an interview with The New York Post published on Monday, October 28. “Matthew was a terrific young man. The Matthew I remember was always happy and kind. He had a great ability to just walk into a room and raise you up.”

News of Perry's death emerged in October 2023 after he was found in a hot tub at his home in Los Angeles. A toxicology report released two months later revealed that his death was caused by “the adverse effects of ketamine” and listed drowning, coronary artery disease and the effects of buprenorphine. His death was ruled an accident.

Five people have been charged in connection with Perry's death. Kenneth Iwamasa, Dr. Mark Chavez again Erik Fleming it is reported that they confessed to the crime. “Ketamine Queen” Jasveen Sangha again Dr. Salvador Plasenciaon the other hand, they denied the charges and will be tried next year.

Fairchild played Perry's mother Friends actor, Chandler Bing, in several episodes of the NBC sitcom through the late '90s and early 2000s. Her character's work as a provocative novelist served as a source of shame for Chandler.

Thinking of him Friends role, Fairchild said The New York Post that Cicely Tyson he tried to pull her out of her gear, telling her, “'You're too young to play that guy's mother!' I said, 'You know, you have to make that change sometime. I think the program is strong.'”

Fairchild said Perry was like a “big puppy” on his first day in the game Friends set up. “[He] he says, 'You won't remember me, but you used to hang out with me Flamingo Road again Falcon Crest,'” he said, referring to activities he played with Matthew's father, John Bennett Perrywho was going to bring his son on board. It was only after hearing about their past communication that Fairchild said she knew she made the right decision.

Fairchild went on to say that he will never forget the late actor's “great comedic timing,” adding, “He was always fun to work with.” He was very creative. He didn't go back to doing the old things you can do when you're successful that way.”

Matthew has been open about his struggles with addiction throughout his career, but the actor said he “didn't know he might have a problem” when they worked together. “I've never seen evidence of that on set,” he said. “I've never seen any evidence of problems.”

Fairchild continued, “The fact that he was very efficient [before he died]it seemed like he had reached some kind of reconciliation with her… I was caught off guard. I knew his father, so he sympathizes with the family. Having a baby so early, so happy, so happy, and you get through this. My heart goes out to them.”

Fairchild was one of the few Friends stars in honor of Matthew on the first day of his death. “1 year ❤️‍🩹🕊️,” Jennifer Anistonwho played the role of Rachel Green, shared pictures of her and her previous expenses via Instagram on Monday.

Courteney Coxwho played Chandler and eventually became Chandler's wife, Monica Geller, also shared a few throwback photos on Instagram, writing, “Missing you today and always ❤️.”
