Jaleel White Remembers Meeting Diddy, Never Attended His Events
Family Matters alum Jaleel White he looks back at things he has encountered in the past Sean “Diddy” Combs.
“I've never been invited to any parties,” White, 47, said during the Wednesday, Oct. 30, “The Viall Files” podcast. “I always say, 'Rejection is God's protection.' I left the white list; I never really went out of my way to be invited to any of those things though. That's right.”
According to White, he is revealing more details about his collaboration with Diddy, now 54, on his upcoming show Growing up Urkel a reminder.
“I'm talking about the history of these people,” White told the podcast host Nick Viallreferring to Diddy, R. Kelly again Bill Cosbythe last two were convicted of sexual assault in succession. “I don't want people to think that I'm talking about these people without respecting the people who were their victims or their convictions.”
He added, “They are human and many people disagree with them. Puffy throws lots of parties; there were many people who attended these events regularly. And now everyone is silent. I think there's a way to share what you've experienced honestly and not just click through and whatever happened after you left or behind closed doors you weren't invited in.”
Diddy was arrested last month on charges of sex trafficking, prostitution and transportation for the purpose of prostitution. The 14-page lawsuit cited Diddy's previous bands as evidence, saying the rapper allegedly “harassed, intimidated and coerced women and others around him” for decades. Diddy was also accused of using these acts to fulfill his “sexual desires, protect his reputation and hide his behavior.”
Diddy pleaded not guilty before a judge denied him bail on three separate charges. He was remanded to the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn pending trial.
“We are disappointed with the decision to pursue what we believe to be the unfair prosecution of Mr. Combs is the U.S. Attorney's Office,” Diddy's attorney. Marc Agnifilo he told Us Weekly in the statement. “Sean 'Diddy' Combs is a music icon, self-made entrepreneur, loving family man and proven philanthropist who has spent the last 30 years building an empire, loving his children and working to uplift the Black community.”
Agnifilo added, “He is an imperfect person, but he is not a criminal. His compliments, Mr. Combs has been cooperating with the investigation and voluntarily moved to New York last week to await the charges. Please reserve judgment until you have all the facts. These are the actions of an innocent man who has nothing to hide, and he is looking forward to clearing his name in court.”
Diddy's trial is scheduled to begin in early 2025, which White acknowledged on Wednesday.
“Diddy has yet to be tried, so I have to be careful with my words,” added the child actor.
