The Dodgers beat the Yankees to win the World Series in Game 5

The Dodgers won game five to clinch the title, by a final score of 7-6 at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx. This is their eighth World Series championship.

While Los Angeles was crossing its fingers, hoping for a lead, the Yankees – back in the World Series for the first time since 2009 – were no match for their West Coast rivals, including the Dodgers'. Freddie Freemannamed the series MVP. “It's everything,” Freeman said in a postgame interview on the field. “I'm telling you, I wouldn't be here without the support of everyone here [Dodgers] shirts tonight.”
He looked down at each of his awards and pointed to the Dodgers collection trophy, saying, “That's what it's all about!”
“Every spring training, this is our goal,” Freeman added of winning the series. “And to make it happen, with this group of guys, I couldn't ask for a better year. Holy cow.”
Before the first game of the night, Freeman's wife, Chelseatook to Instagram and posted a photo of herself and their son, Charlie, 8, in the stands. A few weeks before the Dodgers entered the Fall Classic, Freeman opened up about the couple's “trying” year.
“Every day is a mental grind,” he said The New York Times. “I'm mentally exhausted. It's just not [Max] to be better. A lot more goes into something like this. I could have told you that I needed more than three days. I can probably tell you that I will need it for the rest of my life [reset].”
