Two are in custody following a shooting near San Diego State

Police have arrested two suspects and are searching for a third after a shooting near the San Diego State University campus Thursday night, authorities said. In this incident, one person was injured.

Police responded to a call of a man shot at 5100 College Ave near the trolley stop at 4:38 p.m., according to the San Diego Police Department. One victim was taken to a hospital in unknown condition, according to a statement from the university.

Neither the suspects nor the victim are affiliated with the school community, according to the university.

At 5:30 p.m., the university said one suspect had been arrested. The school asked everyone on campus to stay indoors and be vigilant.

After 15 minutes, the university issued a statement that the second suspect, believed to be the shooter, was arrested and a weapon was found. All classes and university activities were canceled overnight, according to the university.

Police have asked everyone to stay indoors until 7:35 p.m. as they search for a third suspect believed to be connected to the shooting.

After the search, the police revealed that “everything is clear,” and concluded that the third suspect was not on or near the campus or a danger to the school community, the university said.
