dLocal, partner of Viva Aerobus to make payments for travelers easier
Border payment platform dLocal has formed an alliance with Viva Aerobus, Mexico's low-cost airline.
This partnership aims to facilitate local payment processing for travelers in Mexico, the USA, and Colombia.
The partnership comes at a time when the International Air Transport Association (IATA) projects that Latin American passenger traffic will grow by more than 5 percent annually over the next two decades.
Viva Aerobus head of payments and fraud prevention Francisco Melendez said: “Partnering with dLocal allows us to simplify payments for our customers, ensuring that they can easily book flights with the payment methods of their choice, regardless of where they are.
“This partnership not only improves the booking experience but also positions us for future growth in emerging markets.”
Viva Aerobus will integrate dLocal's payment solutions to improve booking conversion rates, giving customers the opportunity to use their preferred payment methods.
The move is expected to simplify bookings and allow the airline to focus on its core operations.
Additionally, the airline will gain valuable insights from transaction data and analytics to continue to improve its payment strategies during the expansion.
dLocal Americas SVP Justo Benetti said: “By enabling flexible, local payment solutions, we are helping Viva Aerobus reach new markets and provide passengers with a smooth, secure booking process.
“At dLocal we have become the payment partner of choice for airlines in all emerging markets, a space that was limited for many years, with only a few players who understood the industry and how to help them. We are happy to lead the way in innovation.”
dLocal's offerings include card processing without the need for additional providers and advanced features such as installments, Smart Routing, and Network Tokenisation.
Its “One dLocal” concept, which includes one specific API, platform, and contract, enables international companies to manage payments and settlements globally.
Last month, dLocal partnered with USI Money to develop payment services in Asia and Africa.
“dLocal, Viva Aerobus' partner to simplify passenger payments” was originally developed and published by Electronic Payments International, a product of GlobalData.
