Israeli airstrikes have been renewed in the suburbs of Beirut
On Saturday, Israel launched an airstrike on a suburb of Beirut, the latest in a series of bombings in the area, which is a stronghold of the Iranian-backed Lebanese militia Hezbollah.
The strikes were aimed at Haret Hreik, which is part of the city known as Dahieh, and destroyed many buildings there, the Lebanese news agency NNA reported.
The attack followed an evacuation order from the Israeli army to its residents.
The Israeli military said it carried out a series of strikes on Hezbollah infrastructure in the Dahieh area.
NNA also reported clashes between Hezbollah fighters and Israeli forces after the forces tried to enter the town of Dhayra near the border.
There was no immediate comment from the Israeli military.
