Nishesh Basavareddy's late-season charge to qualify for the Next Gen ATP Finals presented by PIF has gathered momentum.
In his latest run to a title match at an ATP Challenger Tour event in Champaign, the 19-year-old American finished eighth in the PIF ATP Live Race To Jeddah. Basavareddy, 19 points behind seventh-placed Joao Fonseca, has won 20 of his last 25 matches.
Basavareddy's blistering form, in which he won his first ATP Challenger Tour title and made three separate final appearances, has put him in strong contention to make his Jeddah debut.

Fonseca strengthened his chances of securing a place in Jeddah with his run to the semi-finals of the ATP Challenger Tour event in Lyon. Along the way, the 18-year-old Brazilian secured a crucial win over Jeddah hopeful Martin Landaluce in the last eight.
In a thrilling battle between two of the most exciting prospects on the ATP Tour, Fonseca held on to win 11-9 in a tiebreaker. The ninth-placed Spaniard's defeat left him 49 points behind Fonseca in the Live Race.
Landaluce, who is playing this week at an ATP Challenger Tour event in Rovereto, will look to consolidate those at the front and clear the chasing pack.
Coleman Wong is one of those looking to make a late push to qualify for the final in Jeddah. The 20-year-old, who became the first Hong Kong player since 1972 to win an ATP Tour match in September, is ranked 10th.
The Next Gen ATP Finals presented by PIF will be held on December 18-22 at the King Abdullah Sports City in Jeddah.
