On the Sunday, November 24, episode of the hit CBS series, Colter accidentally lands himself a new job when he finds an abandoned dog at a gas station. Colter tried to take the dog home but the German shepherd was pulled from his truck. This started an investigation that led to a family that survived a home invasion. A mother and son have been robbed – but only their pet.
Colter promised the boy that he would get the dog for a small reward of less than $200. The search took many turns as Colter tracked Barkley down to his former owner, a former member of the military who was involved in some shady dealings and was not threatened. Luckily Colter saved the dog — and was later able to reunite Barkley with the boy, free of charge.
This noted that Colter's work first involved finding an animal instead of a human – but Us he was not angry about it. The episode ended on a high note with Colter pleading guilty to visiting Velma (Abby McEnany) and Reenie (Fiona Rene) in their new office.

Season 2, which premiered in October, earned the title of the most-watched TV premiere this fall after returning viewers nearly 10 percent from the season 1 finale with 8.3 million viewers.
Hartley, 47, not only stars in the show but also works as an executive producer on the side This is us producer and director Ken Olin. Hartley's behind-the-scenes role has allowed him to surprise fans with exciting guest stars – including his wife, Sofia Pernas, again Jensen Ackles.
“I'm happy about it. It's been a long time coming. Ken Olin and I built this show from scratch years ago, before This is us we even finished filming our last season. We have been like this for years, because of the epidemic, and the strike, and so on,” he said Entertainment Tonight in February. “We poured our hearts and souls into this thing and started working on it for what seems like forever [ago]. It's a labor of love for sure. I'm proud of it and I'm glad that I finally got a chance for people to see it.”
That same month, the actor opened up about how he made Colter appeal to all viewers, telling The Hollywood Reporter“A lot of times I think, it's all about the message or this political topic. Sometimes, it gets lost in death that we are musicians. I want people to watch something and be happy.”
He continued: “Colter Shaw is not driven by an agenda, really. He is a businessman. He takes money, that's how he makes a living. He is not driven by politics. You are driven to do the right thing. And, where does that come from? That comes from his childhood, and we bring that out of the series. “
According to Hartley, season 2 just keeps getting better.
“We've got another season of shooting to do better than season 1. So while we wanted all those stories to wrap up, we also wanted those events to lead to other questions — big, deep questions — about her. the past,” Hartley teased Deadline in May. “So I think we have done that in answering some of the questions that we have been building throughout the year. I think we did a good job of making sure that the answers to those questions lead to a bigger mystery, something that we can reveal in season 2.”
Tracker airs Sundays on CBS at 8 pm ET. New episodes air the next day on Paramount+.
