Celebrities Serve Up Mocha Mousse Looks, Pantone's Color of the Year
Every year, the Pantone Color Institute chooses a shade it believes will take the trend. In 2024, it was Peach Fuzz. And as Pantone revealed on Thursday, December 5, it's now Mocha Mousse, a soft, nougat-y brown that's connected to the world's ongoing fashion and beauty trends (glazed donut makeup and latte dressing among them).
“There's all this 'eating' of color that we've seen happen,” Laurie PressmanPantone's executive director, he said Vogue. “It's not just a matter of taste. It also speaks to our environment, our clothes – if you look at the color and say, 'Oh, it's really delicious,' it's not just because it's edible, it's because it's so attractive.”
Like the lovely qualities of chocolate and coffee, Mocha Mousse has a warm, comforting vibe worth indulging in. “It's about our desire for everyday entertainment,” Pressman continued.
He also pointed to the rise of affluent mothers' beauty and quiet luxury as further evidence that “aspirational” browns will continue to be strong next year.
