A 20-year-old American woman is accused of stabbing to death a German immigrant, who she said sexually assaulted her at a train station, leading to the stabbing.

The incident took place at Kaiserslautern Central Station in southwest Germany on June 29, the Public Prosecutor's Office in Kaiserslautern said in a statement last week.

“According to the results of the investigation, the stabbing was preceded by the fact that the 64-year-old suspect molested a 20-year-old child by holding his buttocks, they exchanged words, and the 20-year-old boy opened up. the folding knife he was carrying, until he tried to stab the 64-year-old,” said the prosecutor's office.

“The 64-year-old suspect then grabbed the arm of the 20-year-old child, who was using a knife. The 20-year-old suspect freed himself from this hold and stabbed himself once at the same time,” the statement continued. he added that the man died “within a few seconds.”

The American woman said she was acting in self-defense and did not aim at the man's heart, and has been charged with grievous bodily harm resulting in death.

“The charge of bodily harm resulting in death requires only intent as to the bodily harm and (only) negligence as to the resulting death,” the prosecutor's office said.

The prosecutor's office has not identified anyone in the incident.

“We are aware of reports of a U.S. citizen involved in an incident at the Kaiserslautern train station in Germany. We take seriously our commitment to provide all appropriate assistance to U.S. citizens abroad, and we are monitoring the situation,” the U.S. State Department told DailyWire. in the statement. “Due to privacy considerations, we have nothing more to share at this time.”

The American woman could face ten years in a German prison, the newspaper reported.

The US State Department did not immediately respond for comment.
