28 Years Later – Official Trailer
In a recent interview with Metro, Bill Skarsgård recently gave us a little insight into what we can expect from the killer dancing character named Pennywise. He first spoke in a planned sequence and it sounds like we're going to dive into who Pennywise is:
I'm attached to it but that's all I can say, we're in the early stages and I'm talking to [IT director Andy Muschietti] so also imagine what it will be. It's a different story but I'm excited to go deeper into the character as there's more exploration of who Pennywise is.
Skarsgård also talked about what we can expect from the current film and the journey we will witness for the character of Pennywise:
[kopa_blockquote style=”e.g: style-1 or style-2″ quote=”e.g:true or false”][kb_description]“I had high hopes, but I wasn't ready for how good it was.”[/kb_description][kb_author]Stephen King[/kb_author][/kopa_blockquote]There's depth and change in Pennywise from the first scene to the last and there's a journey there, and I'm glad you said that and it resonated with you – that's exactly what I want people to hear, “wait what is this?” And I think that's what I wanted and that's where I want to go the second time, to go deeper into the psychological and psychological spaces of this eternal animal.
Despite rumors, creator Stephen King was not impressed with the early screenings of 'IT,' which has since changed everything. King recently spoke to Bloody Disgusting and talked about how great the film was:
“I had high hopes, but I wasn't ready for how good it was. It's something different, and at the same time, something the audience will relate to. They will love the characters. For me, it's all about character. If you like the characters… if you care… horror usually works.”
“I am sure that my fans will enjoy the film. I think they will really enjoy the movie. And I think some of them will go back two or three times and really taste the thing. I went back and saw it a second time, and I felt that I was seeing things the second time that I had missed the first time.”
