A Louisville football player was hospitalized after being injured in a game
There was a scary moment at Clemson on Saturday night when a player was carted off the sideline and sent to the hospital.
Louisville linebacker Benjamin Perry was injured against the Tigers and sent to an ambulance.
The details of the injury are not known, but Perry spent several minutes lying on the ground as coaches Jeff Brohm and Dabo Swinney checked on him.

Perry was initially helped by trainers off the field, secured by a neck strap. But as soon as he got to the sidelines, he was put to bed in the bowels of the field and sent to the hospital by ambulance.
Perry was “alert and talking” when he left the field, and even had a chance to talk to his mother, who was not at the game, on the phone.

The fourth-year player was undergoing an MRI at the hospital.
There was 1:47 left in the first quarter, with the Cardinals leading 3-0, in injury time.
The Chicago native started all 13 games for Louisville last season, posting career highs with 56 tackles and 6.5 tackles for loss.

Louisville has not released any additional information about Perry since he was taken to the hospital “for further evaluation.”
