A Royal Caribbean passenger dies shortly after being detained in a chaotic incident caught on video
A cruise passenger caught on camera misbehaving has died shortly after being arrested.
Michael Virgil, 35, was seen trying to kick in the ship's door shortly after it left the Los Angeles Cruise Terminal bound for Ensenada, Mexico, FOX 11 reported.
“The gentleman who was drunk said he was going to kill us,” passenger Christopher Mikhail told a local station. “He started chasing us down the hallway.”
Virgil is said to have attacked two members of the Royal Caribbean crew on board the Navigator of the Seas and tried to kick the door of the towel room to get to one of them.

“I was scared,” said Mikhail. “I'm stuck in this passage.”
Virgil is said to have been using racial slurs and slurs.
The video showed him naked before security restrained him, with what FOX 11 reported to be bear or pepper spray, towels, zip ties and handcuffs.

A family member of Virgil told FOX 11 that he died within an hour of being injected with a specific anesthetic. They said what happened was unethical.
“He didn't deserve to die for that,” a relative told FOX 11.
Virigl left behind his wife and 7-year-old son who were with him on the cruise, according to the station.

A statement released by Royal Caribbean to Fox News Digital said, “We are saddened by the passing of one of our guests. We are supporting the family and cooperating with authorities in their investigation.”
The cause of Virgil's death is not yet known, but FOX 11 reported that the FBI is investigating the incident. The FBI did not respond to a Fox News Digital inquiry about the status of the investigation.
