AEW's Britt Baker in his role as 'Cobra Kai' and Social Media Haters

All star of Elite Wrestling Britt Baker he knows he's not everyone – and he's done apologizing for it.

Baker, 33, has been one of the mainstays of AEW's women's division since the company's launch in 2019, which means she has plenty of experience dealing with the popular wrestling community.

In a special interview no Us WeeklyBaker explained why he was done holding anything.

“I'm tired,” Baker said. “I will never be modest again. Stop me. Respect is 2024. Everyone needs to be real and authentic and the world will be a better place. “

It has been a disappointing year for Baker, who has dealt with a number of injuries that have kept him out of the ring for a long time. In October, Baker's longtime partner, Adam Coleconfirmed that the couple is separated.

“Roller coaster is a good word,” Baker said in retrospect. “But I also don't think it's necessary, because when running there is a beginning and an end. I can't say where the roller coaster started and I don't know where it will end.”

Baker said he's been forced to “go deep mentally” in certain areas this year – especially when it comes to dealing with his relentless online critics.

“You won't believe what you learn about yourself, whether it's really good or really bad, or you'll end up drinking and getting laid as much as possible,” notes Baker. “It's difficult because we live in a world where social media is very prominent. Social media drives what we do, really. “

Baker continued, “We're counting on it. But man, is it toxic. It is brutal. Social media is full of people who just want you to feel bad about yourself. It's crazy we live in a world where that's their job. 'I'll wake up today, tweet 10 said tweets to Britt. I will take a lunch break. And then maybe I'll do 10 more.' It's weird.”

On the bright side of things, Baker appears in episode nine Cobra Kai's sixth season, which arrived on Netflix on November 15. It's a role that Baker, in fact, started in the season 4 premiere.

“I met one of the writers, Hayden [Schlossberg]and I said, 'Oh my god, I'm Britt,'” he recalled. “He saw me on social media. I joked, but didn't laugh, 'If you ever need anything, I'm a big fan and I'd love to hang out.'”

Baker said he “kept pestering” Schlossberg until his persistence finally paid off.

“Finally he called me and said, 'You really have it.' Cobra Kai never say death attitude. If you like, we have a role in mind and here it is,'” Baker recalls.

Baker is kidding Oksana, one of the Russian sensations of the Tiger Strike dojo who competes in the Sekai Taikai tournament. Despite years of appearing on the show, Baker has yet to see an episode.

“I have to be honest, I haven't even watched it,” he admitted. “I want to wait for everything to come out so I can watch it all!”

The third and final part of the Cobra KaiSeason six hits Netflix on February 13, 2025. The first two episodes – including Baker's episode – are available to stream now.
