Hacking middle seats on airplanes

The content creator shared a video detailing “how to avoid the middle seat when driving traffic hack.”

Jorden Tually shared that when it comes to booking with budget airlines, travelers have to wait to check in and open another browser.

In the add-on browser, click on the middle seats and pretend to book them by typing random words on the information page.

“If you do this, the system will hold those seats for about 10 to 15 minutes, that's when you reserve yours,” Tually said in his video.

Adam Duckworth, president and founder of Travelmation, told Fox News Digital in an email that “this hacking of the middle seat will not save you enough money in the time it will take to make it happen.”

A viral TikTok video posted by a comedian has caught the attention of traveling social media users.

In the video, the user says, “I arrive at the airport six and a half hours early.”

Some TikTok users took to the comments section to argue about the right time to arrive at the airport before a flight.

“I've never felt so safe and understood,” wrote one user, apparently agreeing with the video's message.

Another person commented, “I arrive 40 minutes before the flight.”

“I was late for everything EXCEPT the airport,” said one user.

“I'm a 2-3 hour early person,” said one user.

A TSA spokesperson told Fox News Digital, “We recommend that travelers arrive at the checkpoint two hours before a domestic flight and three hours before an international flight.”

Airplane 'trash talk'

A traveler took to social media to discuss why airline passengers don't dispose of their trash properly and share how to fix the problem.

Posted on the “r/SouthwestAirlines” forum, the note was titled, “Favorite tactic of people who put trash in seat pockets.”

“While we're waiting to get off, I'll say, 'Hey, I think you left your AirPods in the back pocket,' forcing them to admit the trash,” the person wrote.

The user added, “4 times I've done this, 2 times when they took the trash, one time the guy said, 'I don't have AirPods,' and the last guy said it wasn't his job.”

Users took to the comments section of the post to discuss the issue.

Gary Leff, a Texas-based travel industry expert and author of the “View From the Wing” blog, told Fox News Digital that trash is often spread out of seat pockets and left on the floor.

“Increasingly, carriers are spending less time cleaning between flights. They don't schedule flights with enough time on the ground to do it – and if a flight is late it's one of the first things that gets cut,” Leff said.

A viral post on Reddit has sparked a heated debate about airline etiquette and personal boundaries after a passenger admitted to refusing to give up a middle seat when another passenger asked for it.

Posted on the “r/AITAH” forum on Reddit, the note was titled, “I'm not giving up my aisle seat on a 15hr flight for an elderly woman with mobility issues.”

The operator said he believed the woman did not want to sit in her seat as the passenger next to her had spilled out of her seat.

The refusal to “seat” caused people to be divided on the Internet, with some defending the passenger's decision and others expressing concern for the elderly woman.

“I have to reserve two seats or fly first class because I have a big frame … The old lady can do the same, she was cheap and trying to take your seat,” commented the user.

California-based ethics expert Rosalinda Randall told Fox News Digital that “nobody has an obligation to change their seat.”
