Arab countries accept the Gaza ceasefire, ask for humanitarian aid
Several Arab countries have accepted the agreement to stop violence in the Gaza Strip and the announcement of the release of hostages.
“With this announcement, a bloody chapter in the history of the Palestinian people, who suffered greatly under Israeli aggression, ends,” said Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates described the agreement as a way to ease the dire situation in Gaza. The minister called on both sides to personally uphold the agreement to end the suffering of Palestinian hostages and prisoners while stressing the urgent need to allow humanitarian aid to the blockaded coastal zone.
Jordan's Foreign Minister, Ayman al-Safadi, stressed the need for international action to deal with what he described as a humanitarian crisis caused by Israel's attacks. He reiterated Jordan's commitment to continuing to help the affected people.-
