Armie Hammer 'kind of loved' cannibalism allegations after banishment from Hollywood
Armie Hammer has had “kind of a temper tantrum” over the past few years following allegations of cannibalism and a sex scandal, which has seen his Hollywood status deteriorate and his marriage collapse.
Hammer, 38, acknowledged how the public reacted when he said he was “cannibals” on the first episode of the Armie HammerTime Podcast.
“I'm not going to lie. I love eating people now. I'm like, 'Hey I'm a cannibal,'” Hammer told his first guest, comedian Tom Arnold, who commented, “The cannibal thing is. my favorite.”

“What makes another noise? Armie Hammer is a cannibal, or Armie Hammer might not be a cannibal?”
Hammer added, “The beast thing makes more noise, and you don't get an apology tour in this world. Like, somebody says something about you, everybody believes it, and then they go on with their lives in whatever they want. They're focused because they've got their own lives.”
“I'm not going to lie, I like to eat a lot of people now. I'm just like, hey I'm a cannibal.”
I “Call Me By Your Name” star was accused of sexual assault in 2017 by an ex-girlfriend, who also said Hammer raped her “violently” and for “more than four hours.”
His career was ruined following a series of text messages that allegedly detailed sexual dreams, including references to rape, violence and cannibalism. They were leaked online by an anonymous Instagram account called “House of Effie.”

Another ex-girlfriend, Paige Lorenze, accused Hammer of branding her with a knife. His ex-wife, Elizabeth Chambers, filed for divorce in 2020, months before the torture, rape and manslaughter allegations against Hammer. Theirs the divorce was finalized last year.
Despite a few difficult years, Hammer said “thank you” and moved past “all that bulls—–, because now, where I am is much better than if it hadn't happened.”
He remembered the speed of “s— hit fan,” and getting calls from his agent telling him that someone online was saying he was “harassing.”
“There are no specifics, but they're saying he's abusive, and it's starting to escalate,” Hammer said. When his agent asked if he knew who his suspect was, Hammer said, “Yes, I know exactly who it is.”
“Where I am, it's much better if that didn't happen.”
Hammer noted that online critics were fanning the flames and asking her accusers, “Did he rape you? You should call the police.” He said, “And he was writing online at the time, 'He never raped me. There's no need for the police. It was consensual.' He was putting all of this on when the rap thing was dropped, it was like, he — he hit the fan so the fan blew up.

He recalled his attorney at the time advising him to keep quiet, telling him, “You can't do or say anything. They're going to open a criminal investigation against you, so you need to shut the f— up. .”

“That's why I'm so quiet,” Hammer said. “I remained silent for 2.5 years while being investigated because there was nothing I could do to make this worse.”
Arnold asked, “Was it hard to be quiet?” to which Hammer said, “Oh yes, it was very difficult because all these people were saying things about me, but there was nothing I could do to protect myself.”
At first, Hammer carried “a lot of anger” at the people who abandoned him during the scandal, from his PR lawyer to his agent and close friends.

“I was like, f— you guys. You all know me,” Hammer said. “Everybody was calling me to leave, I've known you since you were 19. You're not this guy. Whoever this monster is that these people are talking about, we know it's not you.” “
The alleged rape sparked a nine-month investigation by Los Angeles Police Department. Hammer has denied all allegations of sexual misconduct, and in May 2023, prosecutors announced that Hammer would not be charged with sexual assault.
Hammer and his family were the subjects of a Discovery+ documentary that explored “the most disturbing allegations leveled against the highly regarded actor Armie Hammer and the dark, twisted legacy of the Hammer dynasty.”
Amidst the allegations, he was pulled from several films, including Paramount's “The Offer,” a show about the making of “The Godfather,” in which the lead role went to Miles Teller.

He also had to play opposite Jennifer Lopez in “Shotgun Wedding,” the role went to Josh Duhamel. After leaving treatment in May 2021, Hammer was reportedly later seen selling timeshares in the Cayman Islands.
In August, Hammer revealed that he needed to sell out of his truck after he “couldn't afford” gas since returning to Los Angeles.
