Barry Keoghan Praises Sabrina Carpenter For Grammy Nomination

Barry Keoghan he has nothing but praise for the young woman Sabrina Carpenter during his Grammy Award nomination.

“I am very happy for him. I have to get on the phone right away. Don't put me on the spot, guys,” said Keoghan, 32, during an appearance on SiriusXM. The Jess Cagle and Julia Cunningham Show on Friday, November 8, while promoting his new film, A bird.

“I don't know anyone who works so hard, you know?” he said. “I am surprised, watching his work with him [commitment] and the standards he sets, especially being in that [‘Please Please Please’] music video. You know the idea, you know what you want, and of course, yes…”

The nominations for the 67th annual Grammy Awards were announced on Friday morning, with Carpenter, 25, taking home an impressive seven nods, including Best New Artist, Album of the Year and Song of the Year.

It's not the first time in recent days that Keoghan has made comments about Carpenter on the podcast.

Earlier this week, the Saltburn The star talked about the former Disney actor during an appearance on the “Louis Theroux Podcast” behind the boss Louis Theroux he asked about his relationship with Carpenter.

“Oh, I knew you would do this. Listen, all I'm going to say is that I'm incredibly blessed. [She’s] such a strong, independent lady with great talent and yes, [she’s] very special. Louis, you got me!” he said. “I was in the song 'Please Please Please.' Great video. Good music.”

Keoghan and Carpenter have kept their relationship on the down-low since they started dating in December 2023. They continued to fuel dating rumors by attending some of the same public events, including W magazine The Grammys party in February and the Vanity Fair Oscars party in March.

That same month, the source only confirmed it Us Weekly that the two ended up being special in January.

“They took things slow at first, but the relationship is going strong,” the insider said. “They are both free-spirited and enjoy being down-to-earth in their spare time. They don't put too much pressure on themselves, and Sabrina likes that Barry understands that he's very busy with his work commitments right now.”

In June, Keoghan appeared in Carpenter's music video for her Grammy-nominated song, “Please Please Please.” The song served as the second single from Carpenter's latest album It's short and sweetwith many songs rumored to be about Keoghan's romance.

Carpenter said CBS Sunday morning last month he cast Keoghan because of his acting skills.

“I, honestly — as an unbiased opinion — was like, 'Who's the biggest actor I can get in this music video?'” he shared. “And he was right next to me in the seat. And he was so excited about it!”
