After eight years of filing to officially end their relationship, Brad Pitt again Angelina Jolie they have finalized their divorce.
Jolie, 49, and Pitt, 61, signed their divorce on Monday, December 30, according to People.
“More than eight years ago, Angelina filed for divorce from Mr. Pitt. He and the children left all the buildings they shared with Mr. Pitt, and since then has focused on finding peace and healing for their family,” Jolie's attorney. James Simon he told People in a statement on Monday. “This is part of a long ongoing process that began eight years ago. Honestly, Angelina is tired, but she's relieved that one part is over.”
Pitt's attorney declined to confirm or comment.
Pitt and Jolie were together for ten years before they exchanged vows in August 2014. Two years later, Jolie filed for divorce in September 2016 after two years of marriage and ten years as a couple, citing irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split. They share six children: Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh and twins Knox and Vivienne. A spokesperson for Jolie said at the time she filed for divorce “due to family health.” Pitt was later investigated by the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services in connection with the incident with their older son on the plane. Although the allegations – which Pitt denies – were investigated by the FBI, no charges were brought against the actor.
The exes have been declared unmarried since November 2019, but have been feuding in court over custody issues and their French company, Château Miraval.
In November, Jolie took a major step in her ongoing legal battle with Pitt when a the judge ruled that the actor must respond to documents and communications that Jolie says will prove that he hid domestic violence against her and their children.
“I want to emphasize that again, Angelina he never wanted any of this. “He didn't press charges, he left all their properties, and he was the one who tried to sell the business to him in the first place,” Jolie's lawyer. The statement concluded: “You want this to end, the children want this to end, and Mr. Pitt should focus on healing their families, not following charges. If he doesn't do that, Angelina will be held accountable in court by presenting the necessary evidence to show that Pitt's allegations are patently false.”

Jolie and Pitt also continued to fight for Miraval this past year, which has nothing to do with their divorce plans. The legal dispute about the French properties worth $ 164 billion began in February 2022 when Pitt sued him claiming that he illegally sold his shares in Château Miraval. Pitt said he and Jolie had previously agreed to sell their shares only with each other's consent.
In November, Us confirmed that a Los Angeles Superior Court judge has ruled in favor of the Château Miraval case going to trial – and Pitt's remaining claims against Jolie have been allowed to proceed. The judge agreed Pitt has a solid enough contract regarding shares in the holding company, and Pitt's claims were applicable to two counts of interference. The review came after a judge previously blocked Jolie's efforts to have the case dismissed.
