Just days after welcoming her third child into the world, Brittany Mahomes shares the ins and outs of daughter Golden Raye's nursery.
In an Instagram video shared on Thursday, January 16, Brittany revealed that the inspiration for the nursery look came from her and her husband's moniker. Patrick Mahomes they chose their second daughter.
“When I found out I was having a girl, my mind went nursery pink,” Brittany explained, pointing to the green walls with gold lettering.
She added, “I really wanted to go to Golden Kindergarten which is so warm and pink. And obviously the gold plating just to go with her name is where we got a lot of inspiration for her room.”
As the video reveals the small details of their baby's room, Brittany shares what she believes is most important in the space, revealing a rocking chair in one of the room's corners.
“I think this is the most important part of the kindergarten when you build it. You spend a lot of time in this chair as a mother, whether you're breastfeeding, bottle feeding, reading those books, doing night work. So it needs to be free,” he explained.
Instead of making a recliner, Brittany said she chose an ottoman so she and Patrick could comfortably use the chair.
“I made an ottoman because Patrick is much taller than me so we can adjust this on our legs depending on who is sitting on it,” she said.
As the mother-of-three continued, she also showed off one of the nursery's bookshelves, revealing one of the “fantastic” changes they had made.
“We changed knots to make golden bows. For a baby girl, bows are so cute and obviously fit her name,” Brittany commented.
In addition to the gold elements, Brittany told Crate and Kids that she drew inspiration from her middle name Raye, adding “sun-inspired elements” throughout.
“The perfect space for our perfect baby girl,” she wrote on Instagram. “I was not happy with the way they fulfilled my vision. We will spend a lot of time in this cozy place.”
Brittany and Patrick welcomed Golden Raye on Sunday, January 12. Golden joins two siblings, 3-year-old Sterling Skye and 2-year-old Patrick “Bronze” Lavon Mahomes III.
