Brooke Shields and Daughter Rowan Reveal Matching Party Tattoos

Brooke Shields she's no ordinary mom, she's a “cool mom” β€” at least according to her daughter's latest Instagram post.

The actor's daughter Rowan, 21, shared a photo of the pair's drawings on her Instagram Story on Saturday, January 4, writing, “Mother/daughter bonding.”

The ink drawings on the women's clothes on the left read: “and at the party.” Posts tagged East Side Ink and tattoo artist Matt Gutierrez.

Shields, 59, shared the photo on her Story with the caption, “Another tattoo to match my bug 🐞 .”

To celebrate Rowan's high school graduation in 2021, the two got matching ladybug tattoos. The shields found their own on the inside of his left wrist, while Rowan chose to reveal his new ink on the back of his left ankle.

“A special graduation gift and memory with my girl 🐞 I'm so proud of you, I love you more than words can say,” Shields captioned the Instagram photos at the time.

Earlier this year, Shields also shared the inspiration behind another set of matching tattoos β€” this time with her youngest daughter, Grier, 18. (She shares both Rowan and Grier's husband Chris Henchy.)

The tattoo, placed on Grier's wrist and Shields' arm, depicts two sets of feet (one small, one large) wearing matching heels. It is meant to represent Grier stepping into his mother's shoes. (Grier, an aspiring model, walked her first runway show at New York Fashion Week during the show Tommy Hilfiger presentation in September.)

“When she was little, she always wore my shoes, no matter how little she was,” Shields told the “Stupid Things in Love” podcast in May. “She would come into my room and come out to eat breakfast in her diaper and high heels, then a nightgown and high heels.”

Shields went viral on Instagram last summer after dropping her girls off at college and officially becoming an “empty nester.” Rowan is a senior at Wake Forest University, while Grier is just starting his freshman year at the North Carolina school.

“At least they're together,” an emotional Shields said as she wiped tears from her eyes in a video posted to Instagram in August. “It's not easy. It is not easy for mothers. I mean it's just weird. It's weird that (Grier) isn't here.”

Shield said they both cried goodbye before taking a deep breath. “Both my baby birds have left the nest πŸͺΊπŸ˜«πŸͺΉ,” he captioned the video.

“Well, Brooke, it was hard,” Debra Messing comment on the post. “An era has ended and now you are starting a new chapter. But first you have to cry. There is a lot. I slept on my couch for 3 weeks and couldn't talk to anyone. Be kind to yourself. It's hard because it's hard. All of us bare animals are sending you love.❀️.”

“True words!” Melissa Joan Hart he also commented. “It's hard for mothers when our children fly, but if we do our job, it's the goal! ❀️❀️.”

Shields had a busy 2024, starring on Netflix's Mother of the Bridebeing elected president of the Actors' Equity Association – the trade union representing stage actors and managers – and launching her hair brand “Commence for women over 40”.
