Caitlin Clark, Angel Reese open 2025 WNBA season against each other as schedule release
The regular schedule for the 2025 WNBA season was released on Monday, and the latest clash between Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese will take place right away.
Clark's Indiana Fever and Reese's Chicago Sky will face off to open their seasons on May 17 – one day after the league opened the day before.
This rivalry that goes back to their college days at Iowa and LSU soon translated to the pros, as the drama unfolded in the race for Rookie of the Year and their matchup on the field.

Clark went on to win Rookie of the Year this past season after setting multiple rookie and league records, but Reese quickly made her presence known as a fellow WNBA All-Star by touching Chicago in her first season as well.
Four meetings between the Fever and Sky took place last season, and each one was more anticipated than the next as the two tried to help each other to win their squad.
But it was Clark's Fever who pulled off three wins from four meetings. In those games, however, Reese had more points and more rebounds than Clark, even though the floor general bested Reese in assists in all four games.
CAITLIN CLARK IS THE BIGGEST STAR OF ALL NBA PLAYERS, POPULAR PODCAST HOST SAYS
There were also tense moments in those games, starting with Reese's teammate, Kennedy Carter's early-season foul on Clark that made national headlines and sparked sports debate after the veteran guard looked down on the rookie in what many described as a foul. cheap shot.
Then on June 16, Clark was about to play against the Sky when Reese came flying in trying to swing the ball. Instead, his arm hit Clark in the head, and he went down hard.
1 foul was called on Reese, who had to defend himself after the play, saying he was just trying to make a play on the ball and not trying to hurt Clark.
Clark wouldn't have said the same thing, understanding Reese was just trying to help his team at the moment.
Their performances, in college and in their programs, have made each of them reach the level of celebrity that goes beyond sports. Reese even said in the opening episode of his podcast that the 2023 national championship game between his Tigers and Clark's Hawkeyes “changed my life forever.”
But that change is sometimes accompanied by hatred.
“I think his fans, his fans, the Iowa fans, now the Indiana fans, they're really good, they're riding him, and I respect that, respectfully,” Reese said. “But sometimes it's disrespectful. I think there's a lot of racism when it comes to that.”
There is no doubt that Clark and Reese have each played a major role in growing the game of women's basketball and women's sports in general, leading the WNBA to waste no time in quickly courting them in their latest chapter of the feud.
Also worth noting about the WNBA schedule release is the new franchise, the Golden State Valkyries, who are tipping off their first game on May 16 against the Los Angeles Sparks.
