The New York Times purchased Words in early 2022 for an undisclosed sum. The book said the players played together Words 4.8 billion times by 2023. So, that's not surprising Words is one of the best online games and puzzles that you can play every day.

How to play Wordle

To start playing Wordsyou just need to enter one five letter word. The game will tell you how close you are to that day's password by highlighting the correct letters in green. Letters that appear in the name but are not in the correct position will be highlighted in yellow. If you guess any letters that are not in the password, the game will gray out those on the virtual keyboard.

You'll only get six guesses for each day's name, though you can still use the gray letters to help narrow things down. It is also worth remembering that letters can appear in a password more than once.
