Dolph Lundgren Is Cancer Free After Being Given 2 to 3 Years to Live

β€œI'm here at UCLA. [I’m] about to go in and take out that last dead abscess. “Since there are no more cancer cells in my body, I think I will not have cancer, so I am looking forward to this procedure,” said Lundgren, 67.

He added, β€œIt's been a tough journey and it's really taught me how to live in the moment and enjoy every moment of life. It is the only way to go.”

Lundgren first opened up about his secret eight-year battle with cancer in an interview in May 2023 Seriously With Graham Bensinger. He was first diagnosed with a kidney tumor in 2015, which he had removed at the time. But in 2020, he discovered that he had multiple tumors.

“This is the first time I am talking about it. So if you can save the life of one person in my situation then you should, definitely,” said Lundgren. β€œI checked myself every six months. Then you do it every year and it was good for five years. In 2020, I was back in Sweden and had some kind of acid reflux. So I did an MRI, and they found that there were several other tumors in that area.”

Lundgren said in an interview that doctors gave him only a few years to live at that time.

“So, I asked [the doctor]'How long do you think I've been gone?' and I think he said, 'Two or three years,' but I could tell from his voice that he probably thought it was young,” he said.

He added, β€œI thought it was true. You seem to look at your health and go, 'I've had a good life.' I have had a surprisingly good life. I have lived five years in one life with everything I have done.”
