Election Day 2024: Donald Trump, Kamala Harris news and results

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has revealed that former President Donald Trump plans to give him “control” of the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and the US Department of Agriculture (USDA).

Kennedy pointed out that Trump has “promised” him to “take control” of “the public health agencies, namely HHS and its subsidiaries, the CDC, the FDA, the NIH, and a few others,” as well as the USDA.

He said this in a video clip that has gone viral on the internet.

The New York Times reported that Kennedy noted in the text that the video was recorded in an internal conversation with campaign staff about Trump's get-out-the-vote efforts.

“I'm ready to help him get it out community health centers of their rampant conflicts and corruption and to restore their tradition of gold-standard, evidence-based science,” Kennedy said in a statement, according to the source.

The HHS secretary and USDA secretary positions are both cabinet-level positions.

“No official decisions have been made about Cabinet and staff, however, President Trump has said he will work with passionate voices like RFK Jr. to make America Healthy Again by providing families with safe food and ending the epidemic of chronic diseases plaguing our children,” Trump campaign national press secretary Caroline Leavitt he said in a statement.

“President Trump will also establish the President's special independent mental health commission and charge them with investigating what is causing the decades-long rise in chronic disease,” he added.
