In the shadow of Disney's Magic Kingdom, something amazing happened at UCF last season.
Rich Wallace, in his first season coaching his alma mater, brought in 20 changes and eight new players – and a new staff – and put it all together as the Knights, based in Orlando, reached the NCAA regional for the first time since 2017.
In the Tallahassee Regional, the Knights, seeded third, beat second-seeded Alabama, 8-7. UCF later blanked Stetson, 5-2, before being beaten in the finals by Florida State.
UCF finished with a 37-21 record, including 14-15 in its first Big 12 season.[…]
