Heisman winner Travis Hunter, fiancee deletes social media amid rumors, criticism
Heisman Trophy winner Travis Hunter is taking a break from social media, as is his fiancee, Leanna Lenee, amid much criticism online.
Hunter and Lenee's Instagram accounts have been shut down, it was announced on Sunday.
Since being named the college football player of the year this year, the Colorado Buffaloes star has had a lot of trouble online, as rumors, criticism of his relationship and more began to spread.

What seemed to start the internet frenzy was Lenee's reaction after Hunter was officially named the Heisman winner last weekend.
Others took Lenee's seat after she hugged Hunter and congratulated him, as everyone in the room in New York City stood and clapped for the two stars as they greeted each other. Hunter eventually returned to Lenee, leaned in, and gave her another long hug before going on stage.
Then, at the greeting event, Lenee's video that seemed to annoy her that she was watching Hunter meet fans became a subject of criticism.

That's when Lenee, Hunter's longtime girlfriend to whom he got engaged in February, made a TikTok video defending their relationship. However, trolls on social media continued to use the video as fuel to their fire.
Hunter also continued his Twitch stream to defend his fiancée.
“I know what I got,” he said. “I know my girl. My girl has been here with me for five years. Now you're starting to talk about me and now you're starting to be with me. Come on man.”
The comments and criticism continued for Hunter and Lenee despite their efforts to make people understand, so it seems they are done dealing with it for now.
Meanwhile, Hunter is preparing for what is expected to be his final collegiate game in the Alamo Bowl against BYU. Usually players expected to be taken high in the NFL Draft will skip their bowl games, but Hunter explained why he won't be among that crowd.
“It is really important because I started this thing with coach Prime, and Shedeur, and many coaches in the coaching team, so I wanted to finish it well,” said Hunter on December 13 when asked what he was playing for.

Given his ability to impact the game on both sides of the ball as a wide receiver and cornerback, Hunter is expected to be a top-five pick in next year's draft.
