Hoda Kotb Celebrates Suburban's First Thanksgiving With Family Photos
Hoda Kotb celebrates this holiday season in the suburbs — starting with Thanksgiving.
“Happy Thanksgiving from our family to yours,” Kotb, 60, wrote on Instagram on Friday, November 29, alongside a carousel of family photos from the Thanksgiving dinner, which was initially scrapped. Today new home for the host in Westchester County New York after moving from Manhattan.
The pictures showed a sweet picture of everyone smiling at a dinner table full of food, and included Kotb's two daughters – Hope, 5, and Haley, 7 – as well as her mother Sameha, sister Hala, brother Adel and sister-in-law. Colleen, and two nieces Hannah and Ella. Another photo showed his daughters and nieces sitting together in a red sleigh, and another photo of the family in front of a giant tree in New York City.
Kotb has been embracing city life after moving with her daughters to New York City earlier this year. Kotb also announced in September that he would leave the group Today show in January 2025 after nearly 30 years with NBC.
“I realized that it was time for me to turn the page at the age of 60, to try something new. This is the right time for me to move on,” Kotb said at the time. He cited his children as a major influence on his decision to leave.
“I had my kids late, and I thought they deserved my big time, the pie I have. I feel like we have limited time,” he continued. “And so, with all that being said, this is the hardest thing in the world.”
However, Kotb has no regrets since trading city life for the tranquility of the suburbs.
“Everything changed like that. I have a new town and a new school and all new things,” Kotb said of his and his daughters' move on the Sept. 4 episode. Today With Hoda & Jenna. “We went on our first day at school, I brought coffee and sneakers [on]and I took my children to school like normal people. It was good.”
Before enjoying Thanksgiving dinner with his family, Kotb was in NYC on Thursday, November 28, for a live presentation of the 98th Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, marking the host's last show as an NBC host before he leaves. Today.
Kotb will be followed by Craig Melvin like Savannah Guthrie's Today coanchor, while his show no Jenna Bush-Hager it will be Today With Jenna & Friendswith a rotating cast hosting guests until a suitable Kotb venue is found.
