The world celebrated the arrival of 2025 with spectacular fireworks displays and galas.
New Zealand and Australia were among the first countries to celebrate with fireworks at Auckland's Sky Tower and Sydney's Harbor Bridge.
They were soon followed by Asia, which saw fireworks displayed at Hong Kong's Victoria Harbor and the Taipei 101 Tower in Taiwan.
The Middle East joined in and despite the overthrow of the Assad regime and uncertainty about its future, Syrians still found time to celebrate.
Europe soon joined the festivities with colorful fireworks celebrations at Berlin's Brandenburg Gate and the London Eye.
All of America announced the new year with thousands of people on Copacabana beach in Rio de Janeiro and Times Square in New York with the famous football release.
