India unveils plans for 10 missions by 2025 after successful launch of space station

January 3 (UPI) — India's space agency says it plans to record 10 orbits, and its first commercial attempt, by 2025 after successfully launching a lander project this week.

The chairman of the Indian Space Research Organization S. Somanath told reporters following Monday's launch of the PSLV-C60 rocket carrying the Space Docking Experiment, or SpaDeX, payload, that the nation has big plans for next year.

“ISRO will launch the NVS-02 satellite in January 2025, with other missions planned for next year,” he said on Tuesday while marking the agency's 99th launch at the Satish Dhawan Space Center in Andhra Pradesh, carrying two small craft designed to go there. come together in space, a goal considered vital to India's space ambitions.

“With this mission, India is marching towards becoming the fourth country in the world to have the technology to enter space,” the organization said in a statement.

Among the upcoming programs described by Somanath are 10 missions, including the NVS-02 navigation satellite. With that “milestone” launch of 100 from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre, ISRO will launch the second in a series of second-generation navigation satellites and the ninth satellite in its Navigation and Indian Constellation.

Similar to its predecessor NVS-01, NVS-02 will likely have both navigation and payloads intended to serve both civil and military geo-positioning needs, NDTV reported.

Four more geosynchronous satellite vehicle launches are planned for 2025, along with the planned LVM-3 launch of India's Gaganyaan space program, three Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle missions and the launch of the SSLV solid rocket, Somanath said.
