Jaguars players tear up Texans' Azeez Al-Shaair for 'dumb song' on Trevor Lawrence
The Jacksonville Jaguars may have come up short against the Houston Texans on Sunday, but the players made sure they got their licks after a highlight reel that knocked out quarterback Trevor Lawrence.
Lawrence was hit in the head and neck by Texans linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair. Lawrence was skating during the chaos when Al-Shaair came up and ripped him apart.
The tackle sparked a brief scuffle and ended with Al-Shaair and Jaguars linebacker Jarrian Jones ejected from the game. Jaguars tight end Evan Engram was penalized for an unnecessary roughness.

Engram called Al-Shaair's hit “dirty,” and felt compelled to defend Lawrence at the time.
“It was a natural thing,” he said, via the Jaguars' website. “It didn't feel like a clean hit, so just stick with him. I saw him slide, and I saw the hit. I just knew it was wrong. I knew it was a dirty play.”
Jaguars linebacker Josh Allen-Hines didn't like the game either. He did not say whether Al-Shaair should be stopped.
“That was his collision,” Allen-Hines said, via ESPN. “At the end of the day, we're just playing football for ourselves, but also the way we've changed the rules of how we play, we go through these things.

“We talk about these things. We know how to play football. A few years ago that would have been a lot of fun, but now it wasn't a good game for him. I won't stay where I played. He says, does he deserve to be suspended or not?
Jaguars coach Doug Pederson said the incident was “a play that no one in our league wants to see.” He added that he expects the NFL to issue fines to those involved in the contest.
Texans coach DeMeco Ryans lamented Al-Shaair's hit.
“It's unfortunate about Azeez's song,” he said on Pro Football Talk. “That's not what we coach. We want to be smart in everything we do and not hurt the team … We just have to be smart when the quarterback goes down. It's a bad play. It doesn't matter who Azeez is, he's a smart player and a good leader for us and we feel his absence, his loss has affected us a lot on the defensive side .
“This is not what we are training for. I didn't want to see the chaos and everything that happened after that. This is not what we are talking about. It is not necessary. I will talk to Azeez, I will talk to him personally. We will move forward from it.”
