A series of wildfires broke out in the Pacific Palisades area and surrounding areas in Los Angeles on Tuesday, January 7, causing a lot of damage. As of publication, 11 people have died as the fire has burned more than 37,000 acres of land. In addition, it was reported that more than 12,000 buildings were destroyed and tens of thousands of citizens were forced to flee their homes under mandatory or voluntary orders.
As the wildfires continue to rip through the LA area, many victims are beginning to figure out their next steps. Jason, on the other hand, lamented the struggle of the subsequent house sales he faced on Friday, January 10.
“I have been searching in MLS [directory] trying to help families displaced by the fire find rental properties,” he said in an Instagram Story video. “I notice a lot of examples of people trying to do things like this, where they can't get $9,500 or $9,000 and yesterday they raise the rent by more than 30 percent to $12,000.”
While Jason noted that “it's all about free market capitalism,” he said this time it's “clearly taking advantage” of the natural disaster. Stause, 43, agreed with her manager, whom she previously dated in 2021.
“This is disgusting,” Stause wrote on her Instagram Stories. “Some traders have a moral compass, let's report to the board.”
